Having successfully launched the Townhouse Hotel Beaumaris following a 2.3 million development programme, the owners asked Freedman Brown to devise a six month strategy to help celebrate their 25th anniversary and create positive publicity across the UK and consumer, leisure and tourism sectors in a stylish and memorable way.

The agency devised a PR plan which included visits by top travel writers both national and regional, chance-to-sample competitions and promotions celebrating the anniversary and two newsletters for internal and external communication. A special Silver Anniversary luncheon was also organised in partnership with Cheshire Life magazine and attended by almost 100 top businesses, leaders and decision makers throughout North Wales, Cheshire and the North West.

Over 150,000 of PR coverage was achieved with leisure, travel and business articles in a range of media from Yorkshire to Oxford, from Liverpool to South Wales and London and the M4 corridor.

The PR and events activity culminated in a special night attended by over 200 guests to mark the bi centenary of author Charles Dickens who once stayed at the Bulls Head Hotel. Freedman Brown tracked down Gerald Dickens, the great great grandson of Dickens, and staged special pre-Christmas readings at the Bulls Head in the gaze of local and regional media, plus BBC radio and television.
